Welcome to Arbroath
The Arbroath Midwives are a family friendly team of 11 midwives and 3 health care assistants. Our aim is to provide support and guidance through your pregnancy, labour and postnatal period.
We all believe in normal childbirth and with this in mind have the facility of our birthing pool. This was installed in November 2006 after a fantastic fundraising effort from staff and the people of Arbroath. Many women use the pool for labour and birth or just for labour. It has proved very popular and is enjoyed by most women.
Our Midwife Led Unit is situated by the beach and has a lovely peaceful feeling. We encourage women from any area to visit and see for themselves the facilities we have to offer.
Our number of births is rising and we hope this trend will continue. Comments from recent births include:

We offer many classes, with something for everyone - from parent education, aquanatal, breastfeeding and specialised groups for teenagers and vulnerable women to contraception.
We are very proud to have been nominated for a Scottish Health Award 2007 for the work we do with young mums.
