Welcome to Forfar

Forfar Community Midwifery team comprises 5 experienced midwives, based at Whitehills Health & Community Centre. We also have the input of Lorna (right), a midwife sonographer who offers detailed scans and growth scans at the base.

The midwifery team provides antenatal care including parent education, intrapartum care for home births and postnatal care. Each midwife has a clinic within the GP surgeries in Forfar, Kirriemuir and Alyth. We aim to offer families personalised care, continuity and choices. We support women in their choice to birth in either of the Angus units, at home or within Ninewells Consultant Unit.

This continuity of care enables us to establish a good rapport with women throughout pregnancy and following on postnatally, providing support and advice for the new parents and baby.
