Angus gets close attention from other areas in Scotland and throughout the UK who would like to set up similar maternity services.
We are constantly looking to improve what we do and users of our service play a big part in this through our Maternity Services Liaison Committee and small working groups.
If you would like more information about the work of the MSLC, or to give us feedback on the service you have received, contact Kirstin Hoggins, lay chair of Angus MSLC.
To learn more about MSLCs across the UK see the Department of Health (England) funded website MSLC. And, although it relates to England, the Department of Health's February 2007 report Making it better: For Mother and Baby is well worth a read as it explains why midwife-led community units / birth centres are such an important part of maternity provision. This 'Clinical case for change' is presented by Sheila Shribman, National Clinical Director for Children, Young People and Maternity Services.
